System introduction
During container unloading from trucks by quay/yard cranes, a “truck-lifting accident” may occur if the truck twist locks are not fully unlocked, causing the spreader to lift the truck together with the container or lift one side of the truck.Based on laser scanning ranging, pattern recognition and automatic control technologies, this system realizes real-time detection of the positions of the spreader, container and truck chassis. According to safety control strategies, it controls the hoisting mechanism when the container and chassis are not separated, preventing the truck from being lifted, avoiding production accidents and ensuring safe crane operation.
System features:
• Adopts 2D laser for real-time detection of the positional relationship between the truck chassis and container.
• Anti-lifting protection triggers when the truck is lifted by 40 cm.
• Eliminates interference from internal trucks to prevent malfunctions and improve system reliability.
• Supports PLC communication interfaces including serial port and Profibus.
• Equipped with a single-operation bypass switch for anti-lifting control on the operator console, enhancing usability.
• Professional operation and maintenance software with visual real-time data display for convenient daily maintenance and future upgrades.
Technical advantages:
• Real-time continuous detection of container-chassis separation:
The laser scanner scans the truck chassis and container in real time. Using laser recognition algorithms, it constructs a vector contour model of the chassis and container, accurately depicting their positional relationship within the unloading zone.
• Covers all accident scenarios caused by unlocked twist locks:
Using real accident data, the system establishes a positional model of equipment in the operating area during an incident. Real-time comparison and dynamic correlation fitting algorithms identify all incomplete unlocking conditions: single lock connected, 2 locks, 3 locks, and all 4 locks engaged.
• Unaffected by chassis height:
2D laser technology enables real-time continuous detection of the containerchassis relationship, with the same safety strategy applicable to all chassis heights.
• Adaptable to various chassis types
Robust recognition algorithms support all common chassis types, including flatbed and skeletal chassis.
• Suitable for various operating conditions
Provides unloading protection for 20 ft single, twin 20 ft, 40 ft and 45 ft containers.
• Self-test function (functional safety):
The system features self-diagnosis. It issues an alarm in case of failure without affecting the normal operation of the original crane system.
